As a pioneer in shopping centers, energy self-sufficiency and carbon neutrality have been put into practice in Puuvilla. Pori Puuvilla has invested in solar energy and there are already three thousand solar panels on the roof.
As an innovative player, the shopping center has also prioritized energy storage and optimization of energy use. As part of the solution, Enico delivered a 1 000 kW energy storage system that can be charged with self-produced solar energy. The energy storage system can also serve as a power source in exceptional situations, such as power outages. For Pori Puuvilla, it additionally generates also a new revenue from the Fingrid reserve power markets.
