With the agreement, Enico’s battery energy storage systems will use almost exclusively European technology

Enico Oy, a fast-growing energy storage developer based in Tampere, has entered into a strategic partnership with Belgian battery system manufacturer AVESTA Holding. The collaboration will increase Enico’s European share of energy storage to almost 100%, making the company a clear pioneer in the Finnish energy storage market.

The importance of European technology has become a key competitive factor in Europe. While geopolitical tensions create threats from non-European technologies, Enico is bringing solutions to the market that combine European quality, security of supply and sustainability.

“We are proud to offer our customers energy storage systems that are designed and manufactured in Finland using European technology. This partnership not only increases the sustainability of our products, but also clearly distinguishes us from our competitors,” emphasizes Marko Lähteenmäki, Enico’s Chief Executive Officer.

AVESTA a Belgium Company with a strong expertise across the whole value chain, from battery cell to recycling, complements Enico’s expertise and enables the development of even more competitive and safer energy storages.

“Our partner AVESTA is a top expert in its field, and their technology allows us to offer our customers an alternative that combines European quality, sustainability and innovation. This is also an important message for markets where European manufacturing is seen as an increasingly valuable and reliable option,” says Kalle Reponen, Chairman of the Board at Enico.

“We are very pleased to begin a strategic collaboration with Enico. We see the Scandinavian and Baltic energy markets as highly attractive in terms of balancing power opportunities. We have worked together with Enico to build a highly competitive offering for customers in the commercial

and industrial segments as well as Utility scale BESS solutions. We plan to significantly increase our production capacity in the coming years and view Enico as a very appealing partner for us,” says Noshin Omar, Chairman of the Board at AVESTA Holding.

The cooperation is not limited to product development, but it also opens up new market opportunities. Currently, Enico operates in the Finnish, Swedish and Baltic markets, but the partnership with AVESTA creates significant opportunities to expand operations to Central Europe.

Enico, which has grown rapidly over the past year, believes that investing in European technology is not only a responsible but also a strategically necessary solution.
