Rittal and Enico have signed a new strategic cooperation agreement that deepens the companies’ partnership and extends it beyond Finland to the Central European and Baltic markets. The agreement strengthens Rittal’s position as a key technology supplier to Enico and supports Enico’s rapid scaling up amid the transformation of Europe’s energy infrastructure.
Under the new agreement, Rittal will continue to supply its significant Blue e+ chillers for Enico’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions. The collaboration, which has already been close and successful, is thus taking a step forward and ensures Enico a reliable European partner for critical cooling technology and Rittal a strong presence in the development of the energy storage market.
A shared goal: sustainable growth at the heart of the energy transition
Enico has rapidly emerged as one of Europe’s leading suppliers of modular and scalable energy storage solutions. Rittal’s strong industrial experience and advanced cooling technology provide a solid foundation for Enico’s growth, now also beyond Finland’s borders.
“For us at Enico, the reliability and technological expertise of our partners are crucial, as they support our own scaling up. Our solutions are increasingly linked to critical infrastructure, meaning that European partners also play a key role in terms of security of supply. Rittal is a strategically very important partner for us,” says Enico’s Chief Executive Officer Marko Lähteenmäki.
Rittal: strong support for the development of renewable energy solutions
Rittal sees energy storage solutions as a key part of the electrification of industry and the green transition. The collaboration with Enico is in line with Rittal’s strategy to provide solutions for growing and sustainable industries.
“The world needs renewable energy and its efficient storage. We are delighted to be able to support Enico in building modern, safe and efficient BESS solutions,” says Ari Tervo, Managing Director of Rittal Oy.
Energy storage as a key megatrend in the green transition
The International Energy Agency (IEA) highlights the growing role of energy storage – particularly battery technology – in supporting the rapid expansion of renewable energy and ensuring the flexibility of the electricity system. Energy storage is one of the world’s fastest-growing megatrends in the energy transition, and its capacity must be significantly increased in order to achieve the global target of tripling renewable energy by 2030.
In Finland, too, increasing energy storage is crucial as the country aims for carbon-neutral energy production by 2035. The deepening collaboration between Enico and Rittal creates a strong technological foundation for achieving these goals.
