The electricity market is undergoing a significant transformation. Energy demand is increasing, use cases are diversifying, and market platforms are expanding. At the same time, the role of energy storage is becoming more important as a central component of a flexible, intelligent, and sustainable energy system.
Enico is responding to this development by expanding its portfolio of energy storage solutions. The company has developed a new solution, Enico | Jupiter Nova, which enables the implementation of even larger energy storage systems efficiently while saving installation time and space.
Market Growth and Diversification Create New Requirements
The energy storage market is far from slowing down, quite the opposite. Demand is continuously increasing, and use cases are broadening. The growth of flexibility and reserve markets, together with new business models, is making the landscape more complex but also richer in opportunities.
The value of energy storage is not derived solely from physical capacity. Equally important are intelligent control and optimization. In the future, competitiveness will increasingly be built on the combination of physical systems and software intelligence.
Electricity consumption is inevitably rising due to factors such as the growing number of data centers and the electrification of transport and industry. For example, in the marine industry, electrification is no longer an isolated technological experiment but a system-level transformation reshaping the entire value chain. This development further increases the need for scalable and high-performance energy storage solutions.
“The role of energy storage is quickly shifting from a support function to a central part of the entire energy system. At the same time, customer needs are growing in terms of both power and capacity: we’re talking about increasingly large MW and MWh entities. We must respond to this development proactively,” says Marko Lähteenmäki, CEO of Enico.

Jupiter Nova Expands Enico’s Solution Capabilities
The next-generation, European-technology-based Enico | Jupiter energy storage system was launched in May 2025. Development of the next product version began alongside the original launch.
Jupiter Nova is specifically designed to meet the needs of grid-scale and large energy storage systems. The solution enables significantly larger system configurations in a compact space while maintaining installation efficiency.
Technical innovations make it possible to more than double the capacity of energy storage modules. This means that extensive energy storage systems can be deployed with a substantially smaller overall footprint.
Jupiter Nova complements Enico’s energy storage portfolio, enabling the company to serve both commercial and industrial-scale customers as well as grid-scale system operators.
An Expanding Playing Field — Deliveries Underway
The expanded product portfolio gives Enico the opportunity to serve a wider range of customers and to strengthen its position as a credible technology and solution provider in a rapidly developing market.
The revenue potential of the energy storage business is not diminishing, it is growing and diversifying. At the same time, the market is changing, and success requires the ability to combine physical infrastructure with intelligent control and advanced optimization solutions.
Enico | Jupiter Nova has already entered the order and production phase, with the first deliveries progressing as planned.
